The SAT Subject Tests are college admission exams on specific subjects conducted by the CollegeBoard(USA). These are the only international admission tests at the undergrad level where you choose the tests that best showcase your strengths and interests.
Why did I choose to take the SAT Subject Tests?
Well, these tests are logic and application oriented which I really enjoy studying for and writing. Not to mention, they open up opportunities to seek admission in the best undergrad colleges all over the world.
How did I prepare?
I took three tests namely- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Level 2. I joined a coaching centre called Manya-The Princeton Review which helped strengthen my basics. After that I purchased books like Barron’s, The Princeton Review and Kaplan’s for all three subjects along with a test series book from TestPrepKart.com. After that it was just practice, practice and more practice.
Role of my Parents and College-
My father planned out everything methodically and gave me a day-wise plan of action. My mother helped me remember important formulas and data using funny memorization techniques.
My college was very helpful in my journey of preparation. My Principal Mr. Mayur Goyal gave me sufficient resources, guidance and time to prepare for the tests. My teachers always answered my doubts and helped with important concepts.
I’d like to thank my Parents, Principal Sir and teachers at both RVPU College and Manya-The Princeton Review also my friends.
So what next?
Since I’ve got 2400/2400 all that’s left to do now is apply to colleges and wait. I’m interested in Computer Science Engineering and aiming for engineering colleges like Princeton, USC, Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon abroad and BITS-Pilani, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and IIIT-Hyderabad in India.
